So it is finally official that I am a Penn State graduate and can no longer use the excuse of being a "broke college kid." and what a bittersweet moment it is. On the bright side my parents were pretty ecstatic when not only one but THREE diplomas arrived in the mail this morning. I'm not going to lie I felt pretty cool and obnoxiously texted this picture to my best friends. The ironic thing about that was that when one of my best friends replied she said "Well you have 3 diplomas, but I have a job." Touché. My job hunt has become literally a full time job because if I'm not researching, applying, networking or creating relationships I think I'm doing something wrong.
Prior to graduation I spent a lot of time networking and setting up informational interviews making contacts that I could eventually reach out to once graduation came. Since graduating, I have spent countless hours reaching out to contacts, seeking advice from professionals that have been in my position before and researching companies that I aspire to work for. There are definitely things I would have changed in retrospect, but there's never any point in looking back and wondering "What If" so I plan to keep looking forward and working hard to land that first position to jump start my career!
